On Thursday, November 21, 2019, the annual Anders Invest Directors Day took place. Around 50 people gathered at the Anderstein estate in Maarsbergen and had presentations and discussions on sustainability and good leadership. Well debated topics that we really want to put into actual practice at the different portfolio companies.
Anders Invest presented the Inspiration Catalog: an online platform full of example initiatives that companies can take to strengthen the human, social and natural "capital" of the companies in addition to the financial capital. The platform provides the companies with numerous tools on around 60 themes, such as templates, contacts, practical examples, theory building and sometimes even purchasing discounts with service providers.
Five companies have participated in recent months in a pilot program of the Erasmus University called [Re] Value. This program is led by internationally renowned economist Lans Bovenberg and will be continued in 2020. It aims to strengthen human capital by initiating a positive spiral of cooperation and trust, through attention and appreciation for employees. A number of companies provided insight into the positive effects of the program on their day-to-day business.
There was also a panel discussion on service-related revenue in which four portfolio companies exchanged views on their approach to service, planning, 24-hour service, service subscriptions, remote machine monitoring and online service tools.
An important part of the day was of course also the meeting between the management of the companies in order to stimulate cross-pollination and exchange of best practices.
