Maarsbergen – Anders Invest has raised €8 million in its second funding round and thereby reaches a total volume of €18 million. Like the first round in March 2016, the second round was highly oversigned. The investors from the first closing accounted for the largest part, there was only limited space for new entrants. Since there are many investment opportunities the fund will probably be raising its capital again in the second quarter of 2017 in order to grow to €25 million. The goal for the coming 2-3 years is to grow to €40-50 million in multiple funding rounds. The fund management has already invested €1.8 million of its own resources.
In December 2016 the fund management aimed for an amount between €5 million and €8 million. After a couple of days the upper boundary for signing up was reached and on January 20th 2017 the second closing was finished. The number of investors has grown to 62 and consists mainly of active or former entrepreneurs. A powerful network has been created which offers investment opportunities and support for the portfolio companies. Anders Invest organizes each year several events at the location of these companies which strenthens the relation between investors and the companies.
The fund has majority interests in three companies - Bos Machines (100%), gAvilar (60%) and Kiekens (60%) – and minority interests in Metalura (40%) and Stackdoor (40%). Each year the fund invests in about 3 technical companies with a proven track record. We expect a sixth investment, which will fit very well to our focus of small-and-medium sized companies in the making industry, soon. The team of Anders Invest, which has grown to 6 people, adds value by its industrial experience and network. The fast growth of Anders Invest shows that both investors and companies want to cooperate with private equity firms with a long term vision, a value-oriented approach and active support of the portfolio companies. Anders Invest wants to be a front runner by showing that long-term investment will finally lead to better returns.
